The Bayerischer Trachtenverband held its annual Landesversammlung (Delegates Meeting) this past weekend in Sennfeld in Unterfranken. Elections are held every three years, and this was the year. 163 delegates from 22 Gauverbände attended the meeting. They represent the 796 Trachtenvereine that have a total of 161,681 adult members.

Leonard "Lenny" Coyne is a well known and loved Trachtler, especially among the East Coast Vereine of Gau-NA. It is with great sadness we acknowledge his passing on Sunday, September 24, 2017, at the age of 56. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Barbara, mother Dhalma (and the late Anthony), and loving brothers Lawrence and Pierre, as well as many nieces and nephews. The members of Alpenrose Schuhplattler Verein are celebrating their 44th Anniversary. Join them for the festivities beginning at 6 pm on Saturday, Nov. 18, at the Lancaster Liederkranz Hall, 722 S. Chiques Road, Manheim, PA. The Verein would welcome an Ehrentanz performance by your dancers; any musicians are also welcome to bring your instruments and play along. Dance music will be provided by Maria, John, Chip & friends. Ticket price for non-Trachtler is $8 at the door. A buffet dinner may be purchased for $12 for adults, $6 for children 10 and under from 6-8 pm.

The members of Die Gemütlichen Schuhplattler of Anaheim, California, have special guests visiting soon from the Verein Alt Rosenheim in Bayern. During the days Alt Rosenheim will be there, two great events will be taking place. Everyone who would like to attend is welcome to come.

Wolfgang Gensberger has generously shared four presentations that the Trachtenkulturzentum in Holzhausen has published. Three are about Tracht, the fourth is an informational handout about the Förderverein. Links to each are shown below. Gau-NA's Ehrenmitglied Sepp Kaindl has had a lot of press in Bavaria--and so have we! The articles written by Beate Bentele have been excellent. There are now five of them and they are all combined in one pdf. Sepp also did two radio interviews which are in separate links. Take a look and listen to all! The upcoming September issue of the Gauzeitung has more photos and an article in it about Sepp.
