On behalf of the Gemütlichen Enzianer, we would like to extend an invitation to join us at our Fahnen-Segnung and Bauernball (Flag Rededication Celebration) on April 18, 2015. Our Club’s flag is an important symbol of our heritage and Trachten tradition and as such, the refurbishment and rededication of our flag is an important milestone in our club’s history.

The annual Mittelwest Bezirksheimatfest was held April 5, 2014 in Omaha, Nebraska. This year it was hosted by Die Heimat Tänzer of Omaha. There were 307 people in attendance. As always, the morning was scheduled for Jugend Einzelplatteln. The winners are shown in the photo above. The afternoon is filled with workshops. The evening was a wonderful mix of Ehrentänze, music, dancing and good food. A wonderful time to visit with Trachtenfreunde from near and far.

Edelweiss Westchester in New York recently attended the 100th anniversary of D’Chiemgauer Grabenstätt in Bayern. The Bayerischer Trachtenverband’s website has a nice article with several pictures about the visit. The two clubs have maintained a friendship for the 80 years of Edelweiss’s existence, and sixty members of Edelweiss made the trip. Gau-Ehrenkassier William Hubner and wife Linda (both of Gemuetlichen Enzianer NY) were also there and represented Gau-NA.
