Auftanz – A Dance for Everyone

Submitted 19Nov2004 by Karin Dean-Kraft. Alt Washingtonia taught the "Auftanz" during the Volkstanz Workshop at the 2004 Delegates Meeting. It's a great dance for dancers and audience members alike, regardless of dancing ability. Only the size of the dance floor limits the number of couples who may participate. The band continues to play lively march music until the dance comes to an end. At many dances in Bayern, this dance opens the festivities and fills the dance floor with enthusiastic people.
