2006 Events
	BVN Christmas Party - December 17, 2006 Over 100 BVN members and family attended the annual BVN Christmas Party held at the VFW hall in Union, NJ. Even though the weather outside was more like summer than winter, everyone was in a holiday mood and enjoyed the day with family and friends. The salads and desserts brought by our members are always a treat and seem to get better each year. It was nice to see a BVN "band" playing again and we appreciate everyone singing and dancing along to the holiday music. There's plenty of time to get out those instruments and start practicing for next year! It was great to see all of the children singing or performing to their favorite Christmas songs and the annual visit by Santa was the highlight of the day. Many thanks to all of the members who worked so hard to make the party a success. As always, we look forward to next year's party. 	Final Oktoberfest at the Hofbrauhaus in Atlantic Highlands, NJ - November 18, 2006 Approximately 50 members of Bayern Verein Newark attended the final Saturday night of the 2006 Oktoberfest at the Hofbrauhaus in Atlantic Highlands, NJ. We were also joined by 40 members of our dear friends, Edelweiss Passaic, who were performing and Bernie's Orchestra was the music for the evening. This Oktoberfest will be the last of many there as the Hofbrauhaus will be closing at the end of the year after 58 years and 3 generations of family ownership. Many of our dancers (and musicians!) have performed there over the years and the "Gemutlichkeit" will surely be missed. During the festivities, we toasted one of our dear departed members, Erich Wolz, who was one of our most ardent supporters. We will miss him very much. Ruhe in Frieden!
