In 1979 Franz was awarded the "Bundesverdienstkreuz am Bande" and in 1980 was honored with the Bayerische Verdienstorden. When he retired from the Bayerische Trachtenverband in 1994 he was named "Ehrenmitglied". Delegations of the Bayerische Gauverbande honoredFranz Kohlmann at his Funeral on August 24, 2000. On August 21, 2000 Franz Kohlmann died at the age
of 81. He was Ehrenmitglied of the Bayerischen Trachenverband. Born
in Nurnberg, Franz was a Trachler for 74 years. Already at the age of
6 he was T der Daferlbua for the "Gamskoflern". From 1961
to 1969 he served as 1.Vorstand of the TrachtenVerein. In 1970 he was
elected 1.Gauvorstand of the Vereinigung links Donau. Three years later
he was elected 2. Vorstand of the Bayerische Trachtenverband. During
his years in office the Bayerische Trachtenverband had many historic
events. The 50th and 60th Anniversary of the Bayerische Trachtenverband,
the Olympiade in
Montreal and the highlight was the Jahrhunderfest of Bavarias Trachtler
in Munich. Franz Kohlmann was a dedicated hard working Trachtler.
